Hi Tracy,
Sorry to welcome you to our 'club'. But very glad the Cimzia's working for you.
I'm Vicky, 34, diagnosed last autumn but with symptoms since July 2010. I'm on prednisolone, amitriptyline, omeprazole and paracetamol which is tough going, but we'll get there!
I'm sure you'll find the forum helpful and amusing!
Keep posting
Vicky xx

Hi Trace Welcome to the forum. A great place to be for support and information; lots of folk, lots of knowledge and a wealth of tried and tested experiences! Glad you have found us and NRAS! I'm Lyn, married to Mike, we have four children (well I call them children but perhaps it's time to stop!), Abby 23, Ian and Jake 18, and Louis 16. All four in various stages of education! We live in Thornton Cleveleys in north west Lancashire. I was diagnosed with RA 23 years ago and have since run the gamut of medication (although more options are popping up now and again thankfully!) and had lots of surgical procedures along the way. Currently on Enbrel, Leflunomide, Prednisolone and Naproxen, and a wagon load of pain killers! But heyho... Pleased to hear that Cimzia is working well for you; long may it continue! Look forward to getting to know you Lyn x

Hi Trace Welcome to the forum. My name is Deborah I am 46 and was diagnosed last September. This is a brilliant forum it's great to know that there is somewhere we can go where everyone understands RA. I have found that unless you suffer from RA it is really difficult for people to fully understand what its like. Take care and keep posting. Debs x

Wow, I'm truly touched by the warm welcomes. Thank you Ladies. It's great to feel so supported so quickly. I feel I belong already. I think I may have overdone it a bit today, got rather ambitious after not being able to do very much for quite some time. I am also currently on full dose of mtx, hydrochlo (Quinic) something like that, sulphasalzine, 7.5 prednisolone pday, Omeprazole, and something else that has escaped me right now. I'm really on top of my drug list........NOT!!! lol Denial plays a part in this I think.
Thanks again all Trace xx

Hi Trace, I'm Lorna, I have had RA for 3.5 years, I'm married with 3 daughters and I am 52. You certainly have come to the right place for support, we all wear the tea shirt I was on the triple therapy like yourself although you are on more than I was. Is the cimzia now given as well as the triple therapy amidst other drugs too. I was very severe when first diagnosed but keep really well now all things considered. I wish you well on the drugs you are on, do keep posting. Take care Lorna

Tracey, yes, denial plays a big part at first. I know it does with most of us. I was diagnosed two years ago, and am currently on mtx and hydroxy and am seeing my rheumy nurse next Tuesday with regard to starting anti-TNF, not sure which one yet. Sounds like your rheumy is on top of things, so lucky you!! It's great here, everyone is friendly and has loads of sensible advice. I hope you continue to feel well, but remember not to overdo it!!! take care, BARBARA
